A giant asteroid is on a collision course with earth. Around the globe, some of the greatest minds come together and develop satellites that destroy the asteroid just above earth's atmosphere. The explosion showers the earth in what scientists believed at the time to be a harmless cosmic dust. They were wrong. In the aftermath of the asteroid's destruction, animals with special abilities began to arise. Some use their powers for good. Others for evil. These super-powered animals would come to be known as Metamals.

Kong the Conqueror
A young ape named Keldarr Kongor watches helplessly as his family is executed in front of him. But the cosmic dust fuels the burning rage inside of him. On this day, Keldarr Kongor dies. In his place rises Kong, the Conqueror. He is the first Metamal.

Danger Dog
Colonel Rex Rover returns home from duty after he loses his squad in a deadly mission. As he tries to return to civilian life, Rex is attacked by thugs while he walks home. Cornered in a warehouse, the cosmic dust awakens Rex's abilities and he becomes Danger Dog, continuing his own personal war on crime as a soldier of fortune.

Omega Rabbit
After winning the Mega Bowl MVP, superstar linebacker Ray Cottontail is released by his team and replaced by a younger player. As he contemplates his next move in life after football, Ray is thrown into the middle of a rescue attempt and the Omega Rabbit is born.

Molecumouse & War Hog
Chip Squeaker and Porko Peters are two high school friends who both want to use their talents to make the world a better place, but they both have different methods of doing it. While Chip wants to do it peacefully by creating a machine that can end world hunger, Porko creates a machine that is built for war. The two friends argue and Porko storms out in anger and is hit by an oncoming car. After rushing Porko to the hospital, Chip leaves and is attacked by thugs. Both situations cause the two friends ablilities to awaken, leading Chip and Porko to form the super duo of Molecumouse and War Hog.

Plagued by migraine headaches, District Attorney Cleopatra Manx blacks out and is rushed to the hospital. While recovering, an attempt is made on Cleo's life by a hired hitman, causing her telekinetic abilities to awaken. Now, Cleo must protect herself and take down the one that put a hit on her life before he can get another chance.

Hydroduck
As Olympic swimmer Billy Mallard crosses the finish line, his brother Johnny passes away after a year long battle with the avian flu. Billy and his uncle take a trip to spread Johnny's ashes out over the ocean. What should have been a day of mourning and remembrance quickly turns into a day of survival as Billy and his uncle are attacked by sea pirates. In the midst of a struggle, Billy's abilities awaken. With his new-found abilities as Hydroduck, Billy must save not only the life of his uncle, but himself as well.
